ACS GOAL 

is to go above and beyond to promote successful outcomes: for children and adults, by empowering them to cope with problems; and for families, by empowering them with skills and resources needed to independently address difficulties that arise in raising children, teenagers, and adults.

ACS MISSION

is to provide professional services for clients that address their emotional and behavioral needs; increase healthy lifestyles and coping behaviors in various settings; provide leadership and advocacy for enhanced mental health policies and initiatives; fosters a challenging, supportive, student-centered environment that is characterized by academic excellence, inspiring students to serve as leaders in an increasingly complex, diverse and global environment

What We Do

Anchor Community Services is a licensed state agency that provides behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and adults in the Baton Rouge, Ascension, East Texas, and surrounding parishes.

The First Time

When contacting ACS for the first time, clients can generally be seen within the first couple of days for a brief

intake appointment with a licensed counselor who will:

  • Discuss what to expect from the process

  • Gather individual/family background and contact information

  • Discuss the presenting issues and concerns of the client(s)

  • Suggest a treatment plan

Volunteering

Anchor Community Services is committed to supporting the children/youth in our program and in helping support the schools that our program participants attend. Throughout the year, we give back to the community by volunteering in the schools, purchasing supplies for students, giving donations to the schools, and hosting free quarterly activities for children in the community.
